The one I love - Gardening!
Vegetables and flowers that I love and enjoy growing: This year I did not buy any flower plants, they are all old perennials that I had and some vanished, some grew well and I could admire their beauty. The love of growing my own vegetables This year, I started some at home from the beginning. Seeds in paper towels and in take-out containers, preparing the soil for the pots. Some were transferred to pots, while others were planted directly into the soil. I did end up buying a few vegetable plants from the stores and nurseries. I spent hours in the garden, watering my seedlings. I admired then daily, saw them grow, little by little. Flowers were starting to bloom, bees and butterflies roamed around and I counted the tiny vegetables that kept popping up and on their way to becoming delicious, fresh vegetables. I took advice from others and learned while they grew, shared tips from others with the result that some did well and some were disappointing. It was a steep learning curve. Touching them with tender care, then getting impatient and wanting to pick them! This past year with rain and sunshine, nature took good care of my vegetables and gave a bountiful harvest. I was happy, proud and satisfied with my vegetables! I could pick them raw or cook them. I still had plenty left in the fall. I loved the taste of my fresh vegetables, especially the tomatoes! Each one seemed to taste different. My garden was flourishing with kale, green onions, beans, parsley, eggplant, zucchini, cucumber, hot green chillies, yellow and green banana peppers, spinach and basil. I tried to grow ginger, with no luck. Throughout it all, I learned many lessons, made tons of mistakes like starting the seedlings too early, seeding too many per plug or planting them outside too early. It broke my heart to throw away some of the plants that overcrowded the pot. Scrolling through my photos, I took many pictures of my gardening adventures. In the end, I felt happy, satisfied and enjoyed my plants. They were my friends and family during the time I couldn't leave my home. GUEST BLOGGER: RAMANI
