Walkerton Royal Fall Fair
Agricultural Fairs have a long history in Canada and the Walkerton Fair is no exception. Founded in
1854, the event blends the importance of agriculture with the fun of a carnival. There’s something for
everyone - quilting demonstrations, horse shows, a vegetable competition, even a display of exotic
animals by The Keepers rescue organization. We will enjoy a soup and sandwich lunch provided for us
by the fair organizers, as well as a delicious dessert. After lunch, check out anything you’ve missed at
the fair - we’ll be leaving at 2 pm and heading for Millbank.

Founded by Northern Irish settlers in 1843, Millbank is perhaps best known as the location of Anna
Maes Bakery and Restaurant, but there’s more to enjoy here than pastries. Millbank Cheese is a short
block from the bakery, and another two minute stroll will get you to Zehr’s Country Market. Here
you’ll find “Old Fashioned Meat & Cheese, Summer Sausage, Pork Sausage. Deli Sandwiches, Groceries
& Bulk Foods, Post Office, Local & Niagara Fruits & Vegetables in Season.” Wander around the village
and find Bauman Apiaries, antiques at Millbank Family Furniture and more. You can submit your orders
for baked goods early in the day for pickup in the afternoon. We will leave Millbank around 5 pm and
be back in Waterloo at approximately 5:30 pm.
